From world championships, television appearances, to recipes found in books and stores across the globe, this crew has made names for themselves from the backyard to the tailgate. And, they’ll be bringing their experiences to the Annual Big Green Egg Cook-Off where they’ll judge a grilling showdown between teams of retailers and HPBExpo attendees.

Dave Elliott


The 2013 World Food Champion! Dave has made a name for himself with a second-place finish in the 2013 World Dessert Championship, a top-ten finish in the 2014 World Pasta Championship, and is a Kansas City Barbecue Society Grand Champion! Chef Dave has become a highly-sought after culinary personality, has made multiple national television appearances, and appeared on local shows across the country.

Dave is a member of The Kansas City Steak Company Cook Team, and has developed recipes for the Kansas City Star, Tyson Foods, Goo Goo Clusters, and The Kansas City Steak Company.


Loren Hill


Loren is a world champion pitmaster who has competed on the professional BBQ circuit for just over ten years. The Smoking Hills BBQ team, consisting of Loren and his wife Cheryl, earned three World Championships in 2015, The American Royal Invitational, World Food Championships BBQ, and World Food Championships Overall.

The Smoking Hills have also have earned 17 Grand Championships, 19 Reserve Grand Championships, and over 400 top-ten calls on the Kansas City BBQ Society Circuit.


Jayna Todisco


After going on a blind date at a BBQ Festival, Jayna experienced her first taste of real barbecue which quickly led to her desire to become a judge. A few years later, Jayna got the confidence to compete and has since won 13 Grand Championships, 10 top-ten overall finishes, and over 100 top-ten category awards.

This will be Jayna’s sixth year competing, and when it comes to her love of cooking she is inspired by her grandmother. When she’s not competing, you can find Jayna catering private events for friends with A Mazie Q.
